Homebuyers Education Class
2 classes – 4 hours each
must attend both for certificate
Have you dreamed of owning a home but don’t know if or how to begin the process? This class takes you through the pre-qualifying with a lender, budgeting for a home, working with a realtor, what your credit score means, appraisals, insurance and more. Many lenders require this class. In addition, NWDHR is able to share the programs they have to offer which include down payment and closing costs, low interest loans and more.
Money for Life
4 classes – 4 hours each
must attend all for certificate
This class is based on the text Credit When Credit is Due. Class includes creating and budget and using it, borrowing – when and why, loans and leases, dealing with delinquency/bill collectors, bankruptcy, building credit and more. This class can be reported to Consumer Credit Counseling as a way to improve credit.
Post Purchase Maintenance
1 class per month
approximately 2 hours
These short monthly classes address a variety of issues to help homeowners keep and fix their homes. Some topics include doing your own taxes, sheet rock repair, painting, finding and working with a contractor, interior design on a budget, laying ceramic tile, landscaping and gardening and much more. Requests for class topics are encouraged.
eHome America Online Homebuyer Education
Complete this course at your own pace. When finished simply return the intake packet and have a one-on-one counselling session to receive your Homebuyer Education certificate.
